A delicious honey cake from the Bear!

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 100g butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp caster sugar
  • 4 tbsp clear honey
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 175g self raising flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tbsp water


1. Preheat the oven to 190'C/375'F

2. Lightly grease a baking tray or 20 cm/8 inch cake tin

3. In a bowl, beat together all the ingredients until well mixed and of a soft consistency

4. Spoon into the baking tray/cake tin and bake in the oven for 30 minutes until well risen and springy to the touch

5. Cut into slices to serve, either on its own or with a little single cream poured on top
